WHY, HELLO THERE.

ALYSSA BILESCHI

My work focuses on helping mission-driven organizations and creative brands connect with their audiences in meaningful ways. I’ve led cross-platform marketing efforts, shaped digital strategy as part of senior leadership teams, and developed community-centered programming in the arts and non-profit spaces.

I think a lot about how communication doesn’t simply reflect culture; it actively shapes it. I’m curious about how voice cultivates trust, how visual systems shape understanding, and how digital platforms can be leveraged for deeper, more equitable engagement.

Much of what informs my work comes from outside the marketing world: the way museums interpret complex ideas for the public, how advocacy movements mobilize language and imagery, and how hospitality tells stories about place, identity, and connection. These intersections continue to inform a strategic, human-centered approach to my work.

HIGHLIGHTED WORK

This selected work reflects an interdisciplinary practice rooted in community engagement and strategic communication. Across institutions and client-based projects, I’ve developed marketing approaches that promote and invite creating public-facing narratives that foster dialogue and connection. My work spans digital and physical spaces, often centering underrepresented voices and collective experience. Each project demonstrates a sustained commitment to designing systems, content, and experiences that are as intentional as they are impactful.

Chicago Artist-Run Spaces Fair
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of SITE Galleries at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I led the development and execution of a new signature event hosted by the Office of Career and Professional Experience. The gathering brought together 40 Chicago-based artist-run spaces and arts organizations to connect with nearly 300 students, artists, and creative professionals. Following its success, the event has since become an annual part of the school’s programming.

Integrated Social Media Planning I build thoughtful, data-informed social strategies for museums, higher education, food and beverage, and mission-driven organizations. My work spans planning, copywriting, photography, content creation, and analytics. I’ve developed long-term editorial systems, led digital rebrands, and introduced new engagement strategies that connect organizations to their audiences and keep them engaged.

Creative SupervisionI mentor emerging artists and designers as they produce professional materials and collaborate on communications initiatives across institutional departments. This work involves providing critical feedback, fostering conceptual development, and supporting students in articulating their creative identities through portfolios and written materials. I also nominate students for highly competitive, merit-based awards—many of whom have been selected—recognizing their creative achievement, leadership, and promise within their fields.

Project A.I.R.As the Rochester community mobilized in protest following the murder of Daniel Prude by members of the Rochester Police Department, it was critical that the city’s art museum affirmed its role as a safe and inclusive space. In partnership with Project A.I.R., a local collective using protest art to advocate for social equity, particularly for Black and Brown communities, I led an initiative to commission two large-scale banners, created by local artists and displayed prominently on the museum’s exterior fence as a public statement of solidarity.
